2. How to improve my site loading speed?

We recommend using the WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache plugins.

Excluding pages from the cache

If using caching plugins, make sure you exclude the following pages from the cache through their respective settings panels:

  • Cart
  • My Account
  • Checkout
  • Wishlist

These pages need to stay dynamic since they display information specific to the current customer.


3. How to update Visual Composer plugin?

Important! Before updating this plugin, you should delete this plugin in Plugins on admin sidebar


Step 1 –  Go Plugins >>


Step 2 – Hit Deactivate >>  Delete



Step 3 – Go Appearance >> Install Plugins on admin sidebar

Step 4 – Select WPBackery Visual Composer plugin

Step 5 – Hit Install >> Activate.

4. After activating the plugins, my site crashes

This is NOT our Theme’s issue, but a server configuration issue. If this ever happens it is most likely due to low PHP configurations on your server and it can be easily remedied by upping the values. Check out our Requirements for ThemeMove’s Items

5. How to change colors & fonts?

Change Colors

Using Hex Codes

Step 1 – Determine which color option you’d like to change

Step 2 – Click Select Color, then enter a specific Hex Code or drag the color picker around to generate a Hex Code for your chosen color.

Step 3 – Don’t forget to save your changes to apply them.

Using RGBA

Step 1 – Determine which color option you’d like to change

Step 2 – Generate an RGBA value using this tool. Must be in this format: RGBA(0, 0, 0, 0).

Step 3 – Click Select Color, and paste your RGBA value into the field. Notice how it will convert back to the hex code version of your selected color. Simply paste the RGBA value again to apply it.

Step 4 – Don’t forget to save your changes to apply them.

 Change Fonts

To change the theme’s default fonts, we highly recommend using the WP Google Fonts plugin, which allows you to easily take advantage of the scores of type options provided by Google Fonts. To see all of the font options provided, check out Google’s Font Directory.

To search for and install this plugin in WordPress:

  • On your WP Dashboard’s left-hand menu > Plugins > Add New
  • Search for the WP Google Fonts plugin > Install Now > Activate

Step by step

Step 1 – Select your font –  To begin, under the “Font 1” section, select your desired Google Font from the drop-down menu’s list.

Step 2 – Choose your font styles – “Font styles” refer to bold, italic, narrow, etc. stylings of your font. Some fonts offer more options than others. WordPress will be able to make your “normal” font look bolded or italicized, thought for the cleanest look, it’s recommended to choose one of the bold or italic options in the list that is specifically designed for your font.

Step 3 – Assigning your font – In a perfect world, you could simply check the box next to the various text elements that you’d like to apply the new font to. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always work the best. You’re very welcome to try, of course, however, we recommend using the 4th option instead (see Step 4).

Step 3 – Assigning your font with custom CSS – By using CSS code to target the specific theme fonts you’d like to change, we’re able to be much more precise and effective. Don’t know how to determine a text element’s exact CSS selector in order to target it? No worries! We’ve got you covered.

Select your theme’s “Targeting text elements” article, simply locate the text element you’d like to change the font of in the list, copy its code, and paste the code into the “Custom CSS” box of the font plugin.
Please be sure to replace the dummy “your-font-name-here” text with your desired font name
(Note: the ‘ ‘ characters wrapping the font name are important to keep!)

How To Update Visual Composer Plugin

Visual Composer is a premium plugin coming for free with the theme so we’ll make sure to always include the latest version of it when theme updates are released.


We recommend not to upload Visual Composer plugin yourself, you may miss some features from the theme you’ve bought. In each theme’s update version we will include the latest version of each plugin.

It may take some days for Envato’s Reviewers to check and upload our update plugin on ThemeForest.

If you need plugins in a hurry, feel free to submit a support ticket here, our developer will give you a hand.


In case you want to upload plugin yourself

Step 1 –  From Plugins deactivate and delete the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin.

Theme Requirements

To use Polygon, you must be running WordPress 3.1 or higher, PHP5.4 or higher, and MySQL 5 or higher. We have tested it with Mac, Windows and Linux. Below is a list of items you should ensure your host can comply with.

  • Check to ensure that your web host has the minimum requirements to run WordPress.
  • Always make sure they are running the latest version of WordPress.
  • You can download the latest release of WordPress from official WordPress website.
  • Always create secure passwords for FTP and Database.
Hosting is more secure when PHP applications, like WordPress, are run using your account’s username instead of the server’s default shared username (www or www-data). The most common way for hosting companies to do this is using PHP. Just ask your potential host if they run PHP or something similar.

Recommended PHP Configuration Limits

Many issues that you may run into such as: white screen, demo content fails when importing, empty page content and other similar issues are all related to low PHP configuration limits. The solution is to increase the PHP limits. You can do this on your own, or contact your web host and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:

  • max_execution_time 180
  • memory_limit 128M
  • post_max_size 32M
  • upload_max_filesize 32M

Theme Installation

After purchasing Polygon, please download the package from ThemeForest. All you need to do is moving your mouse over your login name in the right top corner – after you logging in ThemeForest, and then click Download. Here you will find all the items that you have purchased.



In the next step click the Download > Main File(s) button next to Polygon and save package on your computer.



In the package, you can find things like documentation, license, PSD files, zipped file with theme files and folder with theme files. Please unpack the whole package after downloading it from ThemeForest.

Install Theme via WordPress

Step 1 – Navigate to Appearance > Themes



Step 2 – Click Add New then, click the Upload Theme Choose File 



Step 3 – Navigate the .zip file on your computer and click “Install Now”



Step 4 – Activate the newly installed theme by going to Appearance > Themes and clicking the Activate button.


Step 5 – Want to have specific Polygon’s demo? Go to Setting > Reading  and feel free to choose

Install Theme via FTP

Step 1 – Unzip zip file package – the zip package is inside Polygon files folder you have downloaded from ThemeForest



Step 2 – Connect to your FTP server and navigate to the folder where your WordPress is installed.



Step 3 – Go to wp-content/themes/ and upload theme folder (the path will look like this: wp-content/themes/tm-polygon)

Step 1 – You can set Site Title, Tagline in Settings > General


Step 2 – You can set Blog pages show at most in Settings > Reading


Step 3 – You can select Front Page displays in Settings > Reading


Step 4 – You can set Discussion settings in Settings > Discussion


Step 5 – You can change Image sizes in Settings > Media

We used the following sizes on our demo sites:
Thumbnail size: 150 x 150
Medium size: 300 x 300
Large size: 1024 x 1024

Theme Options

Polygon comes with advanced settings panel that is loaded with options. We have the options organized into logical tabbed sections, and each option has a description of what it will do on the front end. Because of the sizable amount of options Polygon provides, we cannot go over them in full detail here in our documentation. We encourage you to please take some time and navigate through each tab to see what we offer. Go to Customize on admin sidebar to access the setting options. Menu Setup

Polygon provides the powerful and most advanced menu. There are 5 areas of the theme where you can assign a menu.

  • Main Menu
  • Sidebar Menu
  • Top Navigation
  • View Switcher – You can show WPML language switcher instead of view switcher menu.
  • Currency Switcher – You can show WPML currency switcher instead of currency switcher menu

Edit Menu

Step 1 – Please go Appearance > Menus on admin sidebar, click Create a new menu or select a menu

Step 2 – Give your menu a name

Step 3 – Choose menu you want to add from the left and hit Add New

Step 4 – Rename or re-arrange as you wish

Feel free to choose Primary Menu or Social Profile Menu or Top Menu 

Step 5 – Hit Save Menu and see the result

One-page Setup

Create One-page Menu

Step 1 – Please go Appearance > Menus on admin sidebar, click Create a new menu or choose any menu from the left box and hit Select 



Step 2 – Add Custom Links menu items. Type the anchor name of page section in the URL field. You can drag which menu to make it a sub item.



Step 3 – Click Save Menu button after added the menu items


Create One-page

You can choose One-page Homepage from Step 5 in demo’s installation 




For creating a new page:

Step 1 – Please go Pages > Add New on admin sidebar



Step 2 – Type the page title, choose Backend Editor or Frontend Editor as you wish. In this example, we show in backend Editor




Step 3 – Add any element you want by clicking Add ElementAdd Text Block or Add Template. Here is the example of Add Element:

Create a New Menu

There are three menu locations to help you organize your website: Top Menu, Primary Menu and Social Profile Links. To create a new menu:

1.  Go to Appearance >> Menus >> Hit Create a new menu

3. In Pages: Select pages, links or categories to add to your menu >> Hit Add to Menu

4. In Menu Settings >> Choose the Theme locations

1. Go to Pages >> Hit Add New


2. Enter Page Title

3. Hit the Backend Editor button to build the page via Visual Composer

4.  Choose the Page Layout: Full width, Content-Sidebar or Sidebar-Content

Before Updating

Some important notices before updating:

We recommend you have a current backup of your site including wp-content folder, wp-config.php file and .htaccess file and a copy of  WordPress database. If you don’t know how to action, you can use several plugins such as UpDraft Plus and WordPress Backup Buddy. Moreover, you should backup ThemeMove’s theme options in Appearance >> Customize >> Import / Export




  • You should completely remove all previous Polygon Theme folder
  • You shouldn’t rename Polygon theme folder
  • You should reset browser cache, server cache, and plugin cache
  • You should update required and recommended plugins

Update Theme

Firstly, you need to download the new theme package from your Themeforest account. Once you have the new theme package, you can choose to upload the theme via WordPress or via FTP. Please see the information below for how to download new files, and install it via WP or via FTP.


Download new theme files from ThemeForest


Step 1 – Log into your ThemeForest account and navigate to your downloads tab. Find the “Polygon” theme purchase.



Step 2 – Click the Download button next to it and choose to download the Installable WordPress file only which is just the WordPress file, or choose the All files & documentation which is the entire package that contains everything.



Step 3 – Then you need to decide if you want to install the update via FTP or via WordPress. Directions for both methods are below.


Update your theme via FTP


Step 1 – Go to wp-content >> themes location and backup your Polygon theme folder by saving it to your computer, or you can choose to simply delete it. Your content will not be lost.


Step 2 – Retrieve the tm-polygon.zip file from your new Themeforest download and extract the file to get the tm-polygon theme folder.



Step 3 – Then simply drag and drop or hit Upload the new “Polygon” theme folder into wp-content > themes location. Choose to Replace the current one if you did not delete it



Step 4 – Lastly, update the included plugins. You will see a notification message letting you know the plugins have a new version and need to be updated. You should update the plugins. You can see Update Plugin for more details


Step 5 – Please go to Appearance >> Customize on admin sidebar and hit Save & Publish




Update your theme via WordPress


Step 1 – You need to deactivate the current Polygon theme in Appearance >> Themes section by simply activating a different theme. Once you activate a different theme, you can delete the Polygon.


Step 2 – Retrieve the tm-Polygon.zip file from your new Themeforest download. If you downloaded the Polygon package from Themeforest, then you need to unzip the archive file you received, the tm-Polygon.zip will be inside of it



Step 3 – Then simply upload the tm-Polygon.zip file in the Appearance >> Themes section. Click on the Add New >> Upload Theme tab at the top and choose to upload the zip file


Step 4 – Once it uploads, choose to Activate the theme


Step 5 – Lastly, update the included plugins. You will see a notification message letting you know the plugins have a new version and need to be updated. You should update the plugins. You can see Update Plugin for more details.

Using Envato Toolkit

The Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin lets you view your ThemeForest purchases within the WordPress dashboard and select whether or not to receive updates.

Step 1 – You will need to generate an API key to link your WordPress site to your Themeforest account. Login to Themeforest, go to your dashboard and click on “My Settings.” The API Keys screen allows you to generate a free API key.


Step 2Download Envato ToolKit, install and activate this plugin. A new menu item, “Envato Toolkit”, will appear in the admin sidebar


Click on the sidebar link and enter your marketplace username and secret API key. Click “Save Settings.” All of your theme purchases will now appear on this page after it refreshes.


Step 3 – The plugin will now alert you to theme updates – so long as you check the toolkit settings regularly. Click on “install automatically” beside each of your themes to automatically update them. The toolkit settings page also allows you to install themes that you haven’t already uploaded to your site, delete ones you don’t use and view version details. You can also set up theme backups.


Important! Always Use a Child Theme

Updating your themes shouldn’t affect any customization to your website, so long as you’re using a child theme.
