2. How to improve my site loading speed?

We recommend using the WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache plugins.

Excluding pages from the cache

If using caching plugins, make sure you exclude the following pages from the cache through their respective settings panels:

  • Cart
  • My Account
  • Checkout
  • Wishlist

These pages need to stay dynamic since they display information specific to the current customer.

 

3. After activating the plugins, my site crashes

This is NOT our Theme’s issue, but a server configuration issue. If this ever happens it is most likely due to low PHP configurations on your server and it can be easily remedied by upping the values. Check out our Requirements for FinancePlus

 

4. How to change colors & fonts?

With color, you can choose between 12 primary colors or pick yourself a color you want by enter the RGB number or navigate to the color that meets your brand.

To change the theme’s default fonts, we highly recommend using the WP Google Fonts plugin, which allows you to easily take advantage of the scores of type options provided by Google Fonts. To see all of the font options provided, check out Google’s Font Directory.

To search for and install this plugin in WordPress:

  • On your WP Dashboard’s left-hand menu > Plugins > Add New
  • Search for the “WP Google Fonts” plugin > Install Now > Activate

Step by step

Step 1 – Select your font

To begin, under the “Font 1” section, select your desired Google Font from the drop-down menu’s list.

Step 2 – Choose your font styles

“Font styles” refer to bold, italic, narrow, etc. stylings of your font. Some fonts offer more options than others. WordPress will be able to make your “normal” font look bolded or italicized, thought for the cleanest look, it’s recommended to choose one of the bold or italic options in the list that is specifically designed for your font.

Step 3 – Assigning your font

In a perfect world, you could simply check the box next to the various text elements that you’d like to apply the new font to. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always work the best. You’re very welcome to try, of course, however, we recommend using the 4th option instead (see Step 4).

Step 4 – Assigning your font with custom CSS

By using CSS code to target the specific theme fonts you’d like to change, we’re able to be much more precise and effective. Don’t know how to determine a text element’s exact CSS selector in order to target it? No worries! We’ve got you covered.

Select your theme’s “Targeting text elements” article, simply locate the text element you’d like to change the font of in the list, copy its code, and paste the code into the “Custom CSS” box of the font plugin.
Please be sure to replace the dummy “your-font-name-here” text with your desired font name
(Note: the ‘ ‘ characters wrapping the font name are important to keep!)

FinancePlus’s License

When purchasing FinancePlus from ThemeForest, you have two licensing options:

  • The Regular License
  • The Extended License

The billing, licensing terms and process is purely handled by Envato (the company who owns ThemeForest), and we have no control over these aspects. To learn more about what each License is for and which one to purchase, click here

1. If I need to use FinancePlus on a second site, do I need a second license?

Yes. One purchase of Finance allows you to use the theme on one finished site. If you need to use it on a second site, it requires you to make a second license purchase.

2. Can I use FinancePlus on a test site, then move it to a live site when finished?

Yes, you can. You can keep the theme on a test site to build it, then move it to the live site once you’re finished.

3. Can I keep a test site and a live site with one Regular License purchase?

According to the licensing rules set by Envato, this is not allowed. If it is installed in two places permanently, then it requires two licenses.

How To Use Loco Translate

Step 1 – Please go to Loco Translate >> Manage Translation on admin sidebar, click New Language

How To Make Different Sidebars For Each Page

In our theme, we use only one sidebar for all pages. You can use Widget Logic plugin to choose which widget you want to show on your page.

Go to Appearance >> Widgets and see the Sidebar widget there.

For example below, the Search the blog widget only appears on page that has ID 2717 and all child pages of this page. “is_page” is one of conditional tags, you can choose others at conditional tags.

To search for the ID of the page, go to Dashboard >> Pages. Then point at the page you want to take ID, its ID will be running at the bottom.

Theme Requirements

To use Finance + , you must be running WordPress 3.1 or higher, PHP5.4 or higher, and MySQL 5 or higher. We have tested it with Mac, Windows and Linux. Below is a list of items you should ensure your host can comply with.

  • Check to ensure that your web host has the minimum requirements to run WordPress.
  • Always make sure they are running the latest version of WordPress.
  • You can download the latest release of WordPress from official WordPress website.
  • Always create secure passwords for FTP and Database.
Hosting is more secure when PHP applications, like WordPress, are run using your account’s username instead of the server’s default shared username (www or www-data). The most common way for hosting companies to do this is using PHP. Just ask your potential host if they run PHP or something similar.

Recommended PHP Configuration Limits

Many issues that you may run into such as: white screen, demo content fails when importing, empty page content and other similar issues are all related to low PHP configuration limits. The solution is to increase the PHP limits. You can do this on your own, or contact your web host and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:

  • Max_execution_time 180
  • Memory_limit 128M
  • Post_max_size 32M
  • Upload_max_filesize 32M

Installation

Theme Installation

After purchasing Finance Plus, please download the package from ThemeForest. All you need to do is moving your mouse over your login name in the right top corner – after you logging in ThemeForest, and then click Download. Here you will find all the items that you have purchased.

In the next step click the Download > All files & documentation button next to Finance and save package on your computer.

In the package, you can find things like documentation, licensezipped file with theme files and folder with theme files. Please unpack the whole package after downloading it from ThemeForest.

 

Install Theme via WordPress


Step 1 – Navigate to Appearance > Themes

Step 3 – Navigate the .zip file on your computer and click “Install Now”

Plugin Installation

After installing and activating Finance Plus , you will see the message “This theme requires the following plugins” at the top of the page

You should click Begin installing plugins link or hit Plugin >>Installed Plugins

You will be redirected to Install Required Plugins page, here you will find all of the theme required & recommended plugins. To install them, just check all of them (or all of required plugins and some recommended plugins you like) and from the drop down select install. Once installed, do the same to activate them.

Common Issues & Questions

1. When I Activate The Plugins The Site Crashes

 This is not a theme issue but a server configuration issue. If this ever happens it is most likely due to low PHP configurations on your server and it can be easily remedied by upping the values. Check out our Requirements For Finance Plus post.

2. How Do I Update The Premium Sliders

 All plugin updates, including the premium slider plugins (revolution slider, layer slider) are included with the new theme version. Since you purchased a theme that includes a license for these plugins, we have to issue plugin updates when we issue theme updates. The only way to update the plugins without getting a theme update is to purchase the slider plugins individually.

3. I Think The Problem Is From Your Theme

Let’s find out where the issue comes from with these easy steps:

  • Activate a new theme. If issue’s gone, it’s theme issue. Otherwise, come to the next step
  • Deactivate all plugins. If issue’s gone, it’s plugin issue. You can inspect element to find out which plugin has problem. Otherwise, come to the next step
  • Update WordPress with the latest version
  • Contact to your host provider if all above steps can’t find the reason

Before Updating

Some important notices before updating:

We recommend you have a current backup of your site including wp-content folder, wp-config.php file and.htaccess file and a copy of  WordPress database. If you don’t know how to action, you can use several plugins such as UpDraft Plus and WordPress Backup Buddy. Moreover, you should backup ThemeMove’s theme options in Dashboard >> Customize

Notice:

  • You should completely remove all previous Finance Plus folder
  • You shouldn’t rename Finance Plus theme folder
  • You should reset browser cache, server cache, and plugin cache
  • You should update required and recommended plugins

Update Theme

Firstly, you need to download the new theme package from your Themeforest account. Once you have the new theme package, you can choose to upload the theme via WordPress or via FTP. Please see the information below for how to download new files, and install it via WP or via FTP.

Download new theme files from ThemeForest

Step 1 – Log into your ThemeForest account and navigate to your downloads tab. Find the “Finance Plus” theme purchase.

Step 2 – Click the Download button next to it and choose to download the Installation WordPress file only which is just the WordPress file, or choose the All files & documentation which is the entire package that contains everything.

Step 3 – Then you need to decide if you want to install the update via FTP, WordPress or using Envato Toolkit. Directions for all methods are below:

 

1. Update your theme via FTP


 

Step 1 – Go to wp-content >> themes location and backup your Finance Plus theme folder by saving it to your computer, or you can choose to simply delete it. Your content will not be lost

Step 2 – Retrieve the tm_Finance.zip file from your new Themeforest download and extract the file to get the tm-finance theme folder.

Step 3 – Then simply drag and drop or hit Upload the new “Finance Plus”  into wp-content > themes location. Choose to Replace the current one if you did not delete it

Step 4 – Lastly, update the included plugins. You will see a notification message letting you know the plugins have a new version and need to be updated. You should update the plugins. You can see Update Plugin for more details

 

2. Update your theme via WordPress


 

Step 1 – You need to deactivate the current Finance Plus theme in Appearance >> Themes section by simply activating a different theme. Once you activate a different theme, you can delete the Finance Plus.

Step 2 – Retrieve the tm_finance file from your new Themeforest download. If you downloaded the Finance package from Themeforest, then you need to unzip the archive file you received, the tm_Finance.zip will be inside of it

Step 3 – Then simply upload the tm-finance file in the Appearance >> Themes section. Click on the Add New >> Upload Theme tab at the top and choose to upload the zip file.  Then choose to activate it. See more here

 

3. Using Envato Toolkit


Step 1 – You need to generate an API key to link your WordPress site to your ThemeForest account. Login to ThemeForest, go to your dashboard and click on “Settings.” The API Keys screen allows you to generate a free API key.

Step 2 Download Envato ToolKit, install and activate this plugin. A new menu item, “Envato Toolkit”, will appear in the admin sidebar

Click on the sidebar link and enter your marketplace username and secret API key. Click “Save Settings.” All of your theme purchases will now appear on this page after it refreshes.

Step 3 – The plugin will now alert you to theme updates – so long as you check the toolkit settings regularly. Click on “install automatically” beside each of your themes to automatically update them. The toolkit settings page also allows you to install themes that you haven’t already uploaded to your site, delete ones you don’t use and view version details. You can also set up theme backups.

Important! Always Use a Child Theme

Updating your themes shouldn’t affect any customization to your website as long as you’re using a child theme.

General Update Notices

1. It Is Always Recommended To Backup Your Current Setup

 It’s always a good idea to make sure that you have a current backup of your website, including your wp-content folder, your wp-config.php file, and your .htaccess file in your WordPress installation folder, and a copy of your WordPress database. You can use these to revert back to your original site if something unforeseen happens during the update process. If you are not familiar with how to do this yourself, there are several plugins available that completely automate that process for you, such as: UpDraft Plus and WordPress Backup Buddy

If you are using the Revolution Slider and have added custom css, please make a backup of the styles because those will be removed when you update.

2. Do Not Keep Older Copies of The Theme In WP Theme Folder

 You should completely remove all previous FinancePlus theme folders before adding the new updated theme folder, or you could end up with WP path issues, etc.

3. Do Not Rename The Theme Folder

 If you rename your theme folder when you update, then the path is no longer valid. WordPress stores menus and widget settings and some other settings by folder path. You need to rename your theme folder back to what it was before, and your settings, menus, widgets will be restored. Make a copy of your current theme folder before you upload the new theme.

4. Reset Browser Cache, Server Cache And Plugin Cache

 It is always recommended to reset your browser, plugin, and server cache when you update. Visual issues may happen and more often than not, its caused by caches, and they need to be emptied. Each browser allows you to remove cookies, history and other data. If your theme or ThemeMove Core version is not updated after uploading the new files, it is due to a server-side caching system. Some hosting providers have server-side cache systems installed to optimize the speed of content delivery, please clear any server-side cache or ask your host to do it. This is also true for google pagespeed setups or cloudflare setups.

5. Update Child Theme

 If you have copied template files from parent theme to child theme. Please make sure to revert to parent theme first to confirm if the issue exists there too. If it doesn’t, please update the templates copied to child theme with the parent theme.

6. Required & Recommended Plugins Must Be Updated

 When you update the theme, you will see a notification message in your admin telling you the required and recommended plugins need to be updated. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the plugin updates. We have listed some required plugins and they have to be installed and activated for theme features to work. Make sure you are always using the most recent version of these plugins. You will be prompted to install it upon installing or updating your theme. If you dismiss the prompt or do not see it, then you can go to Appearance > Install Plugins page and install the plugin that way. Every time you update the theme, the plugin also needs updated.

Finance Plus comes with advanced settings panel that is loaded with options.

Create A New Page

Step 1 – Navigate to Pages in your admin sidebar and click Add New option.

Step 2 – Input a new name for your page, then find the Page Attributes box on right side.

Step 3 – Set your Parent page. It’s usually set to No Parent.

Step 4 – Set your page template from the Template drop-down list.

Setting Up Home Page

Setting up your home page is the same as setting up any other regular pages, except that you need to specify in the settings which page will be your Main Home Page. ThemeMove’s items include several pre-designed homes. However, you are not stuck with our pre-designed layouts, you can build any type of home page you desire using our shortcode elements. You can mix and match them anyway you like.


 

How To Set Up Your Home Page

Step 1 – Navigate to Settings > Reading tab.

Step 2 – Select A Static Page option.

Step 3 – Choose the page you want as your home page from the Front Page drop-down list.

Step 4 – This is also the same spot you select the blog page as the Posts page.

Creating Blog Posts

No matter which method you using to display your blog posts, the first thing you need to do is create the blog posts. We offer several blog post types, image, image slideshows, video and more on the way. Each blog post you make can be displayed using any of the 3 methods described above. And with the ability to assign custom categories to each post, you can easily display a set of posts based on category. See below for information on how to create blog posts.

Step 2 – Click on the Add New option to make a new post. Create a title, and insert your post content in the editing field.

Step 3 – Add Categories from the right side. To assign it to the post, check the box next to the Category name.

Step 4 – Add Tags from the right side. Type the name of the tag in the field, separate multiple tags with commas.

Step 5 – For a single image, click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 6 – You can also create a slider with Revolution Slider

Step 7 – For a video post, paste the iFrame embed from either Youtube or Vimeo into the Video Embed Code field.

Step 8 – Once you are finished, click Publish to save the post.

Single Post Setting

Every blog post you create gets a single post page. The single post page displays all the content of the post (the image, text, descriptions, etc). There are various setting for the single post page, please see below for information on each section.


 

1. Featured Images
Each post you create allows you to upload a featured image. ThemeMove’s theme offers featured image boxes in the post editing page, this is where you upload your featured image. Each image you upload goes into a new box.

2. Post Meta Information 

There is various post meta information that you can add to each post you create. This includes tags, categories and post formats. Post format icons will display only when using the large or medium alternate layouts.

Categories – This is meta information you create for the post. In the right hand sidebar of the post editing page is a Categories box that allows you to add a unique category to the post. For example, WordPress, or Photoshop. Each category is a meta link that your viewer can click to view similar type of posts. You can also access and edit Categories from the Post sidebar item in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Tags – This is meta information you create for the post. In the right hand sidebar of the post editing page is a Tags box that allows you to add tags to the post. For example, Photography, or Design. Each tag is a link that your viewer can click to view similar type of posts. You can also access and edit Tags from the Post sidebar item in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Formats – This helps display the type of post you created. For example, if its an image post, video post or slideshows post. Format information will only display when using the large or medium alternate layouts. The design allows for a post icon format to display with the post. Please see the post format section of our docs.

3. Use Visual Composer 

To use this powerful builder, you should enable it for your post: Go to Dashboard > Visual Composer > General Settings then hit Save changes

And choose Post at content types.

Slider

Create Your First Slider

Step 1 – Hit Revolution Slider > New Slider

Step 2  – Revolution Slider offer many kinds of content source as you can see. Go to Slider Title & ShortCode, write the title of slider, alias and then it will create the shortcode for you.

Feel free to copy and paste it to where you want to show the slider.

Step 3 – Choose the slider type

– Standard Slider: the slider with transition

– Hero Scene: the slider without transition

– Carousel Slider: something special you want to move back & forward in the transition

And you’ll get some presets of slider type below each choice.

Step 4 – Choose your Slide Layout

Step 5 – Give some special settings at Customize, Build & Implement  and then hit  Save Settings

Create a New Menu

Set up an Online Store

Create a Form

You can easily create a contact form by using Contact Form 7

Click Contact >> Add New

Then, create your contact form in your style & language.

After you create a form successfully, a shortcode will be generated, let’s copy this code and paste it into your page, post or widget content. Both HTML or Visual View are fine.
